The IGU's mission is to advocate for gas as an integral part of a sustainable energy (global system) and to promote political, technical and economic progress of the gas industry. The more than 116 IGU members are gas industry associations and corporations representing more than 95% of the global gas market. The IGU's Working Organisation covers the complete value chain of gas exploration and production, through pipelines and liquefied natural gas (LNG) transmission, as well as distribution and combustion of the gas at the point of use.
