LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS (LPG) PRODUCTION

For the production of LPG there is a plant, in operation since 1991 (with mixed product) and modernized in 2003-2005. The main processed product is wet gas:
Butane: 8,000 bbls/day
Propane: 14,000 bbls/day
Condensate: 6,000 bbls/day

Following the extraction of condensate gas and LPG from the Alba Plant, approximately 130 mmscfd of remaining dry gas is supplied to the methanol plant established in Equatorial Guinea to produce more than 3,000 tons of methanol daily.
Start of production: May 2001
Production capacity: 1,000,000 tons/year
Main markets: USA and Europe

LNG production started in May 2007 and the first cargo was made on May 24 of the same year. Production is approximately 23,000 m₃/d, with 4 cargoes per month, a feed gas volume of 600 mmscfd and a nominal capacity of 3.72 mtpa. Currently, the plant receives a feed gas volume of approximately 700 mmscfd, allowing production above the design, which is currently close to 25,000 m₃/d, with 5 cargoes per month.
LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS (LPG) PRODUCTION

Sonagas has two modern domestic gas (LPG) bottling plants, located in the cities of Malabo and Bata, respectively. This ensures the availability of gas throughout the national territory and makes the “National Gas for All” initiative a reality in Equatorial Guinea. These two plants, currently in operation, are an important step towards reducing dependence on imported gas.
