The Equatorial Guinean delegation, led by the Vice President, traveled to Houston to formalize the Head of Agreement (HOA) between SONAGAS GE, GEPETROL, and CONOCOPHILLIPS. The contract signing, which took place on Tuesday, September 23, encompasses two strategic gas exploration projects in Blocks EG-27 and B4 (Esmeralda).
The ceremony took place at ConocoPhillips headquarters, in the presence of Vice President, HE Nguema Obiang Mangue, and the company's Executive Chairman, Kirk Johnson. The document was signed by Equatorial Guinea's Minister of Hydrocarbons, Antonio Oburu Ondo, as well as the general directors of Equatorial Guinea's Petroleum and National Gas Corporations, along with representatives of the American company. Both parties expressed their satisfaction with this agreement and expressed the desire of the Government of Equatorial Guinea to see it generate new opportunities for the population, jobs, and the development of new markets.

For Nguema Obiang Mangue, this project represents a materialization of the plans
government's modernization efforts, and described it as "one of the best decisions the government has made to strengthen the country's position in international markets."
The event also included the raising of the Equatorial Guinean flag on one of the ConocoPhillips flagpoles, as a sign of respect and consideration for Equatorial Guinea.
Following this event, HE Nguema Obiang Mangue continued the day in Houston with a visit to Chevron's headquarters in response to an invitation from senior company officials. The visit served to analyze key points regarding the execution of the project Equatorial Guinea has with the company, focused on the transportation of gas from Block I to Punta Europa.
